My Awesome Staircase

The nicest part of the building I live in is the entry staircase. When we move out, I will miss this the most; it’s prettier than our whole apartment! I don’t know exactly when it was made, but I assume that it was put together sometime around 1900. The metalwork on the staircase itself (not pictured below) is rather art nouveau, or Jugendstil.

The window follows the staircase up along several floors, and has a floral motif.

The best part of the window, in my opinion, is that it has a signature at the bottom.

A beautiful little Bastarda script.

Probably painted quite quickly.
