More 2nd Day TYPO

Otmar and FW and Gary H 02

Linotype’s Frank Wildenberg and Otmar Hoefer with Gary Huswitt, director of the Helvetica film, which will premiere in Berlin this Saturday night.

Almost 11am on Saturday, the last day of this year’s TYPO Berlin conference. Tonight, the Helvetica film finally comes to Berlin—or any other part of Germany I happen to be in, for that matter.

A lot happened yesterday that I’ve only just been able to get online pictures for. So this is really a continuation of yesterday’s post about yesterday. Got that ;-)

Alessio and FW

1pm yesterday: book signing. Alessio Leonardi co-wrote and illustrated Linotype’s 120-Year History book last fall. He was at our stand to meet happy readers. Unfortunately, only a few came by for autographs, but they are at least now all owners of coveted Leonardis!

The Bastard Camper
Bastard–Slanted–Finest/Magma: By now an institution at TYPO Berlin. This year, they drove a camper up from Karlsruhe. Brilliant action. Jürgen Siebert, from FontShop, is also pictured in the image above (right).

Ivo and AF and a back

One more addition from yesterday: Happy (belated) birthday, Ivo! Hope it was a good one. I’d love to have a type conference on my birthday. Who wants to organize a conference for the first week of December?

Bernhard and Otmar

After the lectures ended last night, Anke and I went for dinner with several of my Linotype colleagues. We ate at a Turkish restaurant on the Oranienburger Straße.
