This month’s Linotype newsletter, the LinoLetter, arrived in my inbox today. A link in the newsletter took me a new landing-page for the Madame typeface, which has just been released in the OpenType font format. Well, viewing this page, I couldn’t believe my eyes! The four graphics I’ve linked to above are the nicest type displays I’ve ever seen on the Linotype website—or anywhere else online I can think of at the moment. I’ve reduced them a bit so that they fit into my blog’s layout; do click on them to see them in situ at actual size. I regret to report that I had nothing to do with the design of them, but I sure wish I did… maybe I should find out who did it and talk to them about the graphics for Morris Sans ;-)

So glad to see Madame rereleased. It’s like the welcome reissue of a classic record.
Now it is easy to use, too. You press a key on the keyboard, and a complete glyph appears.
Wow! See if you can convince them to publish some prints. I can already see these framed and on my wall.
